One place the PR150 was used were in Ice Rinks, one place being Silver Blades in Birmingham, there were two, one either side of the stage, the amps were huge, being upgraded PR40's with KT88's as the output valves.

The one big fault with them was that they were not fused except on the mains input, where they had an Eddystone Diecast Box fitted with two "Chilton" 5 amp circuit breakers.

The bias for each output valve pair was set by wirewound potentiometers which went noisy; this removed the bias from the valves and a conflagration ensued.

When the Hammond C3 was reinstalled at Streatham Ice rink after rink refurbishment, I got one of the original Streatham PR150's working after a rebuild and that was used again. The other PR150 went to a new installation at the Ice Rink at Lea Valley Ice Rink in North London.

I fitted 6 x 15" speakers and 6 x 12" speakers into the empty cabs and rewired the amplifier to the C3 that had been bought for the rink. The sound was great, just a very loud PR40. I still have an original PR 150 mains transformer, just wish I had some pictures of the amplifier chassis.
